Twin sisters Jeannie and Lauren go through a confusing year. Jeannie runs a small clothes store, and is about to get sued by her partner. Lauren is single again, and is looking for a job that takes her as far away as possible. Both of them have to renegotiate the legal, private, and amorous issues in their lives.
With films such as "Funny Ha Ha," Bujalski established the Indie subgenre "Mumblecore" boasting partially improvised, extremely realistic dialogs, naturalistic actors, documentary style, open beginnings and endings. "Beeswax" is a mature specimen of this variety: drawn from life and deeply moving, it is a charming portrayal of a small family of friends and relatives.
