For Dorian "Doc" Paskowitz, he and his family are the most ordinary people one could imagine. He stands quite alone with this notion. The fanatic surfer left mainstream life behind in the sixties. He relinquished his career as a doctor, taking off instead with his wife Juliette in a 24-foot motor home to travel from beach to beach. Eight sons and a daughter were born in the ten years that followed with the family having no fixed residence. Doc did not send his kids to school, but onto the waves. Documentary filmmaker Doug Pray tells the incredible story of the surfer family using film footage, photos from the family archive, and interviews with the kids and their parents. The film soon reveals that life in search of the perfect wave was not as free and untroubled as it seems in the beginning.
