Enemies of Happiness

In 2003 a young women caused a stir in the Afghan national assembly. She vocally expressed her criticism of the presence of warlords and the oppression of women in the country. She was expelled from the assembly. Two years later a Danish film crew accompanies Malalai Joya on her campaign for a seat for the Farah province in the Afghan parliament. Since there were already several attempts at her life, she has to keep changing her location. But in spite of these difficulties she gets through to her constituents. "Enemies of Happiness" portrays a courageous woman hailing a new Afghanistan in putting herself against adversaries with seemingly overwhelming power.
