Nico initially only agreed to act in Warhol's "I, a Man" if Jim Morrison, whom she had an affair with at the time, played the lead, but Morrison's manager refused. She brought along Morrison's friend Tom Baker from Los Angeles instead. The actor played the lead part in this first of a series of sexploitation movies which Warhol and Paul Morrissey produced in 1967. "I, a Man" consists of a sequence of sexual encounters Baker has with women, with Warhol's superstars Ultra Violet, Ingrid Superstar and Nico among them. Also, under the stage name Valeria Solanis, future Warhol assassin Valerie Solanas has a short appearance delivering a misandric tirade.
