The documentary counterpiece to "Beaufort", partly shot on the same sets. Nurit Kedar has talked to young Israeli soldiers who had to hold out in the fortress of Beaufort, in the midst of enemy territory, in the aftermath of the First Lebanon War. Like her film "One Shot", which won accolades at the 2004 Cologne Conference, "Wasted" also dwells on the collateral damage war does to one's soul and spirits. Kedar has intercut the soldiers' personal statements with choreographies by the renowned Batesheva Dance Company, which make the claustrophobic quarters and lingering air of threat within the fortress felt for the audience by artistic means.
