Selected Filmography Kathy Drayton: Beach Story, 2001; Eat, 1989.

Her body produced too much blood. In 1980, Australian photographer Carol Jerrems died in her early thirties from a rare disease. "Girl in a Mirror" gives an account of the life of this exceptional, daring artist by presenting interviews, diary entries, reenactments and many photographs. Many of these depict the Australian counterculture of the 1970s, but Jerrems also risked her life for photojournalism pieces on youth gangs in troubled urban districts. In her documentary,  director Kathy Drayton breaks with the conventions of the biopic genre in favor of a poetic approach towards Jerrems’ life and work, befitting the nonconformist photographer.
