Traditional fairgrounds have a hard time these days, since they are up against adventure travels to far-off countries which are no longer prohibitively expensive, and against computers that cast interactive fantasy worlds onto the screens. The Wiener Prater has seen better times, too. "Fokus Pokus €uromatik" resorts to unusual perspectives to present impressions of a world with the air of a bygone era. Nonetheless a reflection of contemporary society shows itself in these interviews with mostly ex-Yugoslav seasonal workers at the rides and lottery booths, people whose everyday lives are strongly affected by migration for work with all its opportunities and problems.
