Just after his girlfriend is kidnapped by a serial killer, Detective Sam Tyler gets run over by a car. Instead of waking up in a hospital, however, he wakes up to the year 1973 – in a world with no cell phones, no diet coke, and pretty much Stone Age methods of investigation. Casting aside his initial confusion, Tyler soon takes an interest in his work again upon learning that his colleagues are investigating a murder case, which might provide the key for unraveling the kidnapping of his girlfriend. Brilliantly construed BBC mini series that remains ambiguous about the reality plane
its protagonist is on.
