“Benny's Video” stirred a flurry of interest and controversial discussions when a Swiss attorney seized the film for alleged glorification of violence. At the same time, however, Haneke’s second feature film was honored by receiving major awards. 14-year-old Benny spends his time alone watching films on video. He also makes his own films. The world on video is his reality. His perspective on his environment begins to shift. Benny commits a murder of a girl. His parents, who feel partly responsible and guilty, stick by their son. They help Benny cover up the crime.
