A young cabby is driving alone through a big city night. The woman he’s fallen in love with has turned him down. After seeing a peepshow he enters a prostitute’s room... That sounds familiar: "Jewboy" is toying with elements from Scorsese’s "Taxi Driver", but doesn’t share that film’s bleak view of the world. Taxi driver Yuri is not a psychopath, but a sensitive 23-year-old Hasidic jew from Sydney. After the death of his father, he is struggling with his faith, which forbids him to physically touch anyone outside of his family. A story of finding one’s self between tradition and modernity, told in artistic images.
