Ten years have passed since Jakob graduated from university. On this occasion, his old friend Arved, who has since become a successful politician, invites old college friends to a party in his mansion by the sea. Presumably, he is going to offer jobless Jakob and his wife well-paid positions, but as things soon turn out, the invitation is really related to a deadly secret harbored by Arved’s wheelchair-bound wife. Like his earlier motion picture "Sie haben Knut", Stefan Krohmer’s made-for-TV thriller "Ein toter Bruder" is set in a remote location and renders the portrayal of a generation – this time, however, one that has lost its moral bearings on the road to success.
