People make mistakes – but when doctors do, the consequences can be deadly. Young doctor Rob Lake is new to the team of a hospital’s maternity ward, where he soon witnesses the cover-up of a serious case of malpractice. Is he to risk his career for a clean conscience? Foregoing cheap pathos and rushes to judgement, British serial medical drama "Bodies" is setting new standards for its genre, staying close to reality in its depiction of the conflicts and ethical dilemmas doctors have to face up to every day. Jed Mercurio, author and producer of the series, did not have to do much research in the ailing English health system: he himself spent four years as a doctor in a hospital.
