Petja and Kiril were only just 18 when they volunteered for military duty in Chechenya – not out of political conviction, but because they needed the money. They come back crippled. Over a span of three years, renowned camera man Johann Feindt ("Die Spielwütigen") and Tamara Trampe have observed the young veterans in their struggle to reintegrate into the civil world. Their solemn portrayal is that of a lost generation, who, if left alone to grapple with their traumata, rests on the verge of turning into living time bombs.
