Be it Big Brother, Windstärke 8 or Die Burg – reality has become the dominant program type on German television. Many show concepts come from abroad, and adapting these formats to the tastes of a German audience has proven to be challenging. Examining successful adaptation strategies from around the world, this roundtable explores the prospects and limits of taking foreign reality shows to the German market.
