Traveling at 30 kilometers per second, the two Voyager space probes, which were launched in 1977, each carry a golden record through the emptiness of space to give extraterrestrials an impression of life on Earth. The spectrum of items on board ranges from the 27 most important pieces of music (including "Johnny B. Goode"), to natural sounds, to 115 photos of people in social interaction. But nakedness, war, sex, and violence are not included in eternal human memory. Leon Giessen and Marcel Prins tell the story of these time capsules in a poet and amusing film that says much more about the zeitgeist of the 1970s than about the endless vastness of interstellar space.
