Sharpshooters have one shot – a shot that decides between life and death. In Nurit Kedar’s disturbing film, snipers of the Israeli army speak on camera for the first time, talking about the moment of killing, their feelings of powerlessness and triumph, and how their job has changed them. The statements made by the soldiers are not commented upon; only the footage, filmed with a helmet camera, conveys the reality of the missions. In the end, the viewer has to come to a conclusion him- or herself. Only one statement is made: day-to-day violence deforms people, in one way or another.
