Politics is no place for honest folk. The newly appointed Ministry Official Holman (Marieke Heebink) discovers the truth of this disillusioned platitude through bitter experience. She starts out as an image-booster for a faltering coalition but quickly becomes the fall guy in a political power play. Although Holman defends herself with all the idealism she can still muster, the price of integrity turns out to be unexpectedly high. In a compelling black and white staging, director Norbert Ter Hall, from a script by Frank Ketelaar (“De trein van zes uur tien”), shows us the public demolition of a human being.
