September (2003).
The aircraft, the burning towers – pictures that in seconds made people forget about everything else. September 11, 2001, immediately became an emblematic disaster of the budding new millennium. SEPTEMBER focuses on four "normal couples” and how this day changed not only the world, but life in Germany. It shows eight people and how they experienced this moment and its consequences in Germany. The film does not offer a catharsis or a key to a new life, but provides a mosaic of snapshots in which public life is transferred to private life and social powerlessness finds expression in the irrational reactions of the individual. SEPTEMBER is a highly topical film about the globalization of emotions in a world threatening to fall apart at the seams.
