A comic pop essay and a veritable anarchist attack on the antiquated German school system and pupils’ emergence as would-be revolutionaries. (Silver Bear and Bundesfilmpreis 1969). The film also gives a melancholy view of the helpless "modernity” of the teachers of the time. This experiment, in the nouvelle vague style, focuses on a real high school class in Bremen and is still a cultural event in the Hanseatic city. Reactions to the shooting of the film, demonstrations, and tumult were captured in a cheeky way in this film premier by theater director Peter Zadek, who later initiated the first video experiments in German TV film together with Tankred Dorst ("Rotmord,”, "Der Pott”).
