Hilde, Karl, and Philip are, as they say, disabled. They are sick and tired of their life in a home for adults: Hilde wants to go to Africa, Karl to the "free economy,” and Philip has problems with his girlfriend. They clear out. Intending to take a day trip to Cologne, they end up in Paris for the time being. Pago Balke and Elke Besuden tailored their first feature film completely to the three handicapped protagonists, who gave their thanks by acting with exuberance and compelling emotional intensity. The non-disabled characters are first-rank German film actors. Corinna Harfouch, Doris Kunstmann, Martin Lüttge, and Dominique Horwitz, a disillusioned helper, all give outstanding performances.
