In her new series comedy star Ruby Wax mixes her humorous interviewing style with a critical look at aberrations of the American Dream. In addition to the Ku Klux Klan and Donald Trump, she meets sheriff and prison warden Joe Arpaio and his “chain gang.” His philosophy: a jail is not a hotel. Both male and female inmates have to live in tents in the desert and find their own food. Without passing judgment Ruby Wax probes in her inimitable way precarious aspects of Amercian society and in her flirtatious, seemingly harmless tone manages to find “victims” more easily than would be possible using traditional means of investigative TV journalism.
