From the perspective of politicians and celebrities, the well-known photographer Herlinde Koelbl observes journalists, photographers, and camera people as they hunt for pictures, interviews, and statements. Koelbls second directorial work after "Spuren der Macht" (Traces of Power) deals with the habits and compulsions of opinion-makers and photographers. Apart the fight for the best pictures, journalists’ rituals during long waiting periods play a role. “Die Meute“ is a precise study of the relationships and dependencies of a society strongly influenced by the media. The long-awaited documentary is the opening film at this year’s Cologne Conference.
