December 1976: Richard Oetker (Sebastian Koch), the son of the baking powder magnate Rudolf August Oetker, is kidnapped. After the ransom money is paid the industrialist’s son is released two days later. But his imprisonment in a box has left scars. Together with Oetker, the detective Kufbach (Tobias Moretti) tries to find the kidnapper. A duel begins between detective and kidnapper that is only won over two decades later. In an elaborate production, Director Peter Keglevic achieves a suspenseful drama with a cool aesthetic and great sensitivity to detail. Not least thanks to the excellent cast, “Tanz mit dem Teufel“ is a very successful TV movie and one of the highlights of Sat.1’s contemporary film series.
