Once a year, the “Golden Rose” festival in Montreux, Switzerland honours the best programmes in the area of television entertainment and now ranks among the most prestigious prizes in the television industry. In recent years, the festival has also evolved into a platform for ideas, concepts and strategies for the entertainment branch. It provides its approximately 1000 industry attendees with a wide-ranging overview of current programmes and future trends.
This year, BRAINPOOL produced an hour-long special about the festival, hosted by comedy star Anke Engelke. Clips from the special and from this year’s prize-winning programmes will be featured at the Showcase. Among these are two Brainpool productions: “Mircomania”, a co-production with Zeitsprung GmbH, was awarded the “Silver Rose” in the “Comedy” category, while “TV total” received the “Bronze Rose” in the “Variety” division.
