Mission: Impossible

"Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is..." This sentence along with the driving theme music from Lalo Schifrin began every adventure of the "Impossible Mission Force", a secret military commando that made the impossible possible. The Kobra team also used newly developed, high technology against their enemies; however, they were especially successful due to the unbelievable abilities of each team member, for example Martin Landau's character, Rollin Hand, who could imitate voices, and Leonard Nimoy "the great Paris" who was an artist in changing himself like a chameleon. The imbedded popularity and diehard viewing of fans in over 90 countries led to a technically modernized remake of the series in 1988, and Brian de Palmas' cinematic adaptation in 1996, starring Tom Cruise, was the trendsetter for numerous motion picture adaptations of TV adventure series.
