They fear neither death nor devil: the staff of Brighton's public cemetery earn their living with the dead, a job most people would rather not talk about. But they carry on doing what they do best, be it at the organ, with a shovel or among the crematorium ashes. And just as in any firm, it takes all kinds ... the cynic and the clown, the wild and reserved. Director Ben Fox has managed to take a new look at an old and somewhat inauspicious subject and hits a naive, laconic note in his work. He draws his viewers into a truly underground world and digs up a few unusual forms of humor. And yet, it is all true, and often stranger than fiction.
