Beaten up, then shot, then biting the dust ... literally: this was the world of the "Spaghetti Western", Italy's answer to the Hollywood original that celebrated its heyday in the 60ies. Accompanied by once celebrated stuntmen and B-Movie veterans, director Gianfranco Pannone takes us on a sentimental journey through abandoned film studies, a landscape of "mesas" and "canyons" near Rome and through the many memories of this lost-long piece of movie history in Europe. This "magical" documentary and social commentary weaves together old film cuts with new footage shot at the original sites and featuring many of the original performers. Who knows, maybe the genre will even be experiencing its own little renaissance soon? With Pier Paolo Pasolini in a supporting role.
