The luxury of his bourgeois existence can’t deceive Pierre about the false moral of his own class. When his illegitimate sister suddenly appears, his life is put out of joint. He leaves his fiancée Lucie to start a new life with Isabel at the edge of society. Yet, Pierre is leading a war against his own life but he will only recognise this when he has led himself and his beloved to the verge of ruin. The film had just been shown in the official competition in Cannes.
