Election Night

Peter is a young idealist who early one night suddenly remembers that he has forgotten to vote. He jumps into a cab and on his way to the polls, which becomes a race against time, he is introduced to an assortment of taxi drivers who all hold very strong opinions and ideologies about the human race. Peter finds himself confronted with the decision of whether he should defend his own opinions or get to the ballot box on time. Election Night is the third short film by director Anders Thomas Jensen, who also works as a writer in Denmark. His first two shorts were both nominated for an “Oscar”, while the third one, Election Night, actually won the Academy Award this year.
