South Park

"South Park" is hip, irreverent underground animation in the tradition of "Beavis and Butthead"; a crude mixture of tasteless humor, rude language and stark violence. It stars four evil, raunch-spewing schoolkids, the perverted school cook (voiced by Isaac Hayes), Mr. Garrison, the teacher who speaks through a demented hand-puppet, plus show-biz stars and the odd extra-terrestrial. Up-and-coming animators Trey Parker und Matt Stone landed the surprise hit of the 1997 fall season with their low budget production. "South Park" emerged as a television event, earning the highest ratings ever for an original series on cable channel Comedy Central, and is now tipped as the "The Next Big Merchandising Thing".
