Peter Sommer, his party's top candidate for the upcoming election, is kidnapped two weeks before polling day. His kidnappers demand ten million marks from the party. The delivery of the money fails and the kidnappers ask for more. Franziska, the candidate's wife, becomes suspicious and starts to investigate on her own. Soon she discovers a political trap.
