On the border between New Mexico and Texas a group of white settlers are being terrorized and murdered by the infamous Vulcher Gang. The outlaws shift the blame to the local tribe of Shoshoni Indians. Winnetou, Chief of the Apachies, Old Surehand the shrewd trapper and the young Fred Engel (Götz George) join forces to quash the criminal Vulchers and their arsenal of underhanded tricks. Humour and action sequences flesh out the adaptaion of Karl May's Indian adventure.
