It's the same old story, but it hasn't lost its charm: A singer falls in love with a rambling guy who soon metamorphoses into a successful composer. The lovebirds exude playful charm and make for a light-hearted, romantic mood. Virtuoso director Wolfgang Liebeneiner managed to take the well-worn formula and conjure up a fine, piece of slick cinema. The 22-year-old George won his first National Film Prize as Best Newcomer for his portrayal of the endearing boxer Gustav.
