39-year-old François, married, one child, leads a comfortable, sedate life - until he meets Muriel, 22, student and single. He makes advances to her, she resists and then gives in. Their affair lasts eight months. Adultery in all its fleeting joys, rare moments, jealousy and tears. "La femme défendue" is the anatomy of a passion, filmed with "first person" subjective camera, without secondary characters or subplots. Director Philippe Harel himself plays the invisible adulterer.
